Forward-Shipping of Mail – We have rate-shopped the shipping giants to ensure extremely competitive shipping services for you. Prices vary by weight, class, and destination. Remember you can reduce forwarded mail costs by more than 50% by (1) shredding or recycling unwanted mail and (2) scanning mail not needed in paper form. It’s easy and secure!

Customers may choose from among several options for the class of service, speed, destination, and special options for delivery via FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service. Cost also depends on the weight, size, and number of items grouped to be forwarded together in a single package (the best cost-saving method).

Also, we now offer a budget-friendly way to forward-ship within the U.S. any single mail piece that weighs 5 ounces or less (and can fit in a 10" x 13" envelope), using USPS First-Class Mail, for a flat rate of only $2.95. In addition, we've revamped the shipping interface on the Earth Class Mail account site to let you directly select the shipping provider (FedEx or USPS) and the class of service. Please note that forward-shipping of packages across national borders may require that we open the package to check the contents per applicable legal statutes and carrier policies. Also, we charge a modest handling fee to cover the costs of preparing your shipment.

Draw-Down Balance – All additional services in excess of those included in the bundled subscription plans are charged against a draw-down balance that the customer establishes with Earth Class Mail Corp. The system will automatically manage your charges for you, based on thresholds you set. The draw-down account mechanism is used to avoid frequent "micro-charges" to your credit card. See Recharge Threshold.

Billing – Customer accounts are updated continuously. Fees and the cost of services are debited from a customer's account as the services are consumed. Customers may access on-line updates of the services that have been consumed and the cash balance that remains available in the draw-down account. Services may not traded off against one another. For example, you may not receive more scans in exchange for less inducted mail. Bundled services not consumed in any month will not be carried over or credited to any later month. If your requested services exceed the monthly allotment, you will be notified and your account will be charged based on the chart in Pricing if You exceed Your Plan.

# of Mail Pieces Received – Each mail piece is bar-coded with a unique serial number for security and tracking purposes. Each letter, flat and parcel counts as one "Piece."

# of Pages – Page size is assumed to be up to 8.5" x 14", A4, or letter-size pages. Oversize pages (larger than 8.5" x 14") will be charged an additional $1.00 per page.

Scanning – Mail contents are scanned by default in B&W at 300 DPI. Upon request, mail contents may be scanned in grayscale or color or higher DPI at an additional charge. Grayscale pages are $0.25, color pages are $0.30. We aim for turnaround times of one business day for scanning of mail contents. We do not scan material that in our sole discretion we deem pornographic or obscene.

Storage Fees – You can keep your envelopes and packages securely stored at one of our processing facilities at no extra charge for the first 30 days after we receive them. After that first month we will assess a modest monthly pay-as-you-go storage fee of 25 cents per envelope and $1 per pound for each parcel ($1 minimum per parcel).

Recharge Threshold – The Recharge Threshold is the minimum amount of available funds in your account. If the balance of your draw-down account falls below the Recharge Threshold, your credit card will be billed for your account’s Recharge Amount. You may change the threshold amount at any time. All accounts now have a minimum Recharge Threshold of $10.

Recharge Amount – The Recharge Amount is the minimum amount we charge to your credit card each time the available funds in your account (your account balance less charges for pending services) falls below the Recharge Threshold. All accounts now have a minimum Recharge Amount of $25.
