How do I sign up for Check
Deposit?
Sign up for an Earth Class Mail account, selecting the Professional plan – which includes the option to add Check Deposit service. You'll be invited to enroll as soon as you've finished signing up.
If you're already on our current Professional plan, you can enroll for Check Deposit by logging in and clicking Settings, then Check Deposit, and following the on-screen instructions.
What are the requirements for enrolling in Check
Deposit?
You must have an active bank account that's in
good standing with a U.S. financial institution. You'll fill out an
online form that asks for personal or business identification; this
information will be validated and must be correct. The following
types of businesses are not eligible for the new check-deposit
service:
- Check-cashing and other intermediary money-service businesses
- Businesses that are primarily third-party resellers through
eBay, Amazon, etc.
- Businesses that are primarily telemarketing services
- Unsavory or illegal businesses
How long does it take for funds to be deposited into my
bank account?
Funds are typically available in your bank account within two business days, if you make the deposit request through the Earth Class Mail Web
interface before 12:00 noon, Pacific Time.
If I deposit a check remotely and it bounces or turns out
to be fraudulent, what happens?
It's no different than
what would happen if you deposited it at the bank in person. If a
check is returned, you'll typically be notified within 2-3 business
days. You'll be charged a returned-check fee of $15, and will be
able to have the check shipped to you or to pick it up if it's
stored at one of our street addresses.
