Check Deposit

We offer both per deposit and unlimited deposit solutions through our Virtual Mailroom product plans. These services are not currently available with any of our other products.


Do I need to sign up for this service?

For our per deposit service, there is no need to sign up, all you need is a Virtual Mailroom account. To deposit a check, simply call customer support to request a deposit for your check. There is a $20 per check fee ($5 each additional check) for this service.


For unlimited Check Deposit there is an enrollment and approval process.


How do I sign up for unlimited Check Deposit?

When you sign up for one of our Virtual Mailroom plans you'll be invited to enroll as soon as you've finished signing up.


If you've already got a Virtual Mailroom plan, you can enroll for unlimited Check Deposit by logging in and clicking Settings, then Apply For Check Deposit, and following the on-screen instructions.


What are the requirements for enrolling for unlimited Check Deposit?

You must have an active bank account that's in good standing with a U.S. financial institution. You'll fill out an online form that asks for personal or business identification; this information will be validated and must be correct. The following types of businesses are not eligible for the unlimited Check Deposit service:

  • Check-cashing and other intermediary money-service businesses
  • Businesses that are primarily third-party resellers through eBay, Amazon, etc.
  • Businesses that are primarily telemarketing services

How long do deposits take?

With the unlimited Check Deposit service, funds are typically available in your bank account within two business days, if you make the deposit request through the Earth Class Mail Web interface before 12:00 noon, Pacific Time.


For the per deposit service, deposit time varies based on mail transit time.


What happens with returned or fraudulent checks?

It's no different than what would happen if you deposited it at the bank in person. If a check is returned, you'll typically be notified within 2-3 business days. You'll be charged a returned-check fee of $15.
